Wine, chocolate and french films..

Wine, chocolate and good films are some of my favourite things in life, and one of my favourite places in Hobart where I can combine all three is the State Cinema in North Hobart.

Recently the State Cinema Bookshop opened it's doors and it is such a lovely space to browse some really fabolous titles and gorgeous art books.

I'm a little bit chuffed that Loopee Designs is also on the shelves, in particular bookmarks, cards and magnets.

Just because I loved it, here is the poster from Romantics Anonymous - such a great film with a memorable soundtrack.

Mini break

After a couple of busy weeks at Salamanca Market I'll be taking a break until early May.  Autumn leaves were falling today, they make the best props and the second photo needed no styling...these were photographed where they fell!

Whimsy

I might have mentioned before that I really love fabric - I love the feel, the look and yes the smell!

I love fabric cut fresh from the bolt, but I also have a lot of time for a gorgeous piece of vintage material found in a dusty op shop that has its' own special smell.  I finally sewed one of my favourite linen/cotton mixes that I've held onto for a little while... I really like the whimsical nature of the text and pictures.

I also found some time today to finish a custom order for a special girl who needed a large sized pouch for her Barbie colouring book and pencils.  This one's for you Bridge, with cherries on top!
I'll be back at Salamanca tomorrow...a beautiful day is forecast, I may or may not have my little bit of whimsy with me, might be a bit hard to part with!

A Room with a View

or the view from the market marquee is unbeatable!   Salamanca Market in autumn has such a nice feel, the light is different and the trek up the path to the loo involves a little bit of leaf kicking.
Thanks so much to all who dropped by today, so many interesting people from far flung places.
I'll be back at the market next weekend, just down near the Salamanca Arts Centre...hoping everyone is enjoying the Easter break!

Autumn days

We experienced the first snow of the season yesterday, and while the mountain looms majestically over Salamanca Market, it can be a little chilly for the stallholders.

But as always lovely people to chat to, including a three year old who explained the Angry Bird phenomena.  I didn't know anything about it, embarrassing but true.

I'm aiming to be back at the Market in about a fortnight, rugged up and with a new design I've been working on.

Till then I'll be enjoying these beautiful autumn days!

How many zombies?

If zombies were counted in the census, I think Hobart might have about 789.  Late last year the March of the Zombies in Salamanca Market was a sight to behold.
Because Loopee Designs likes to cater to the most eclectic tastes, we have just released a new range of pins - zombies, clowns, vampires, and scary dolls - different but nice to pin on your jacket or bag.

Available this weekend at Salamanca Market down near the Silos! Pocket mirrors for vampire fiends coming soon....
